Cops, lawmakers send message: Dnt txt & drive
Thu Sep 3, 2009
I was nearly run down by a young woman doing her eye makeup while driving 60+ mph on a two lane, FM road that was very hilly and had no shoulder. She was either riding my bumper or hitting her breaks hard to keep from hitting me. I let her pass when I got to a passing lane and she zipped by me.
Some 911 centers can’t keep tabs on cell phones
Mon Jul 13, 2009
A simple solution is for carriers to have a low cost land line that home owners can use to make emergency phone calls. I am with some of the other commenters in that I refuse to pay for something that I will not use or for a service that gives me nothing in return.

Thu Apr 23, 2009

So all of the Obamanites want to demonize the past administration for their actions regarding the treatment of terrorists.
Trustee wants Madoff investors' profit returned
Fri Apr 24, 2009
I understand that the trustee is saying that if investers recieved ill-gotten gains, they have to give them back. The problem is that many people were living off these gains in their retirement and many are elderly.
CDC: Few U.S. women screened for chlamydia
Thu Apr 16, 2009
When I was pregnant, the first round of tests included tests for chlamydia, HIV, cystic fibrosis, and a lot of other things. It was all covered by insurance. Also, I have gone to the dr to be tested for blood-born pathogens. It was covered by insurance because of the possibility of exposure.
Bottled water may have sickened 12 kids
Fri Apr 24, 2009
This story confirms what I have known all along: Consumers should not take the quality of their bottled water for granted. The quality of bottled water does not fall under the Safe Drinking Water Act like public water systems (ie what comes out of the tap).
